The Brera is a sports car model that was first manufactured by the Italian Alfa Romeo firm in the year 2005. Since the year 2006, the newer version, the Spider cabriolet, has been produced. Both of the cars are issued by the Pininfarina Company.
Originally, the Brera was presented as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 2002. Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign Giugiaro designed the model. The concept version of the car was powered with Maserati V8 Configuration. It produced about 400 PS. The Brera received rave reviews, and plans for production were launched shortly thereafter.
The manufactured car maintained the exterior appearance of the original, but on a smaller scale. It effectively became a mid size coupe on the GM Fiat Premium platform, which it shared with the Alfa Romeo 159 model. It was intended to be a replacement for the outgoing GTV.
In the European Union, the Alfa Romeo Brera may be acquired with one of two petrol Configurations – the 185 PS 2.2 liter JTS and 260 PS 3.2 liter V6. It is also available as a JTD turbo diesel Configuration. The 2.2 petrol and diesel cars are front wheel drive, while the V6 model is a four-wheel drive system that can be compared to the Q4 of the Alfa Romeo 156.
