These two sports cars have been produced by Italians Alfa Romeo since the year 1995. The Alfa Romeo GTV is a 2+2 coupe. The Alfa Romeo Spider is basically a two-seat cabriolet version of the Alfa Romeo GTV. The boot space is very tiny, leaving many customers to choose to delete the rear seats.
These two cars were both launched in the year 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show. The name of the GTV established it as a successor to the Alfa Romeo GTV6, which had been discontinued long before. The Spider was presented as a replacement for the Duetto Spider, which had been manufactured for nearly thirty years.
Both of these cars were presented to the gentleman sports car market. They come with a decent stereo system as well as air conditioning, but few other creature comforts. Most of the models made between 1995 and 1997 come fitted with aftermarket radios.
Autodelta built a racing version of the Alfa Romeo GTV. It first came with the same aspirated Configuration from the earlier GTAM racer, which was based on the 105 series coupe. The race version of the GTV attained moderate success in the year 1975, when it won the Elba and Costa Brava rallies.
