Aston Martin Vantage

The Vantage name has been used on a number of Aston Martin vehicles over the years. It typically indicates a higher performing version of a former Aston Martin model. In one such case, between the years of 1972 and 1973, the Vantage was its own distinct Aston Martin model. The Aston Martin Vantage was known for being a straight six model of the normally V8 DBS. It was announced as a successor to the DB series.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage of 1977 was hailed upon its release as the very first super car in Britain, with a top speed of 170 miles per hour. With a shared Configuration with the Lagonda, the V8 Vantage utilized higher performance camshafts, bigger carburetors, and an increased compression ratio.

Visual elements of the Aston Martin Vantage cars include unique two headlong front clips that come with grilles similar to the DB6 model. The Vantage was also known for being the very last Aston Martin car to come equipped with wire wheels. Only seventy models were produced in this series, making it a rarity.

Until the DB7 of 1993 was released, the Vantage was the very last Aston Martin straight six vehicle.
