The fastest, most expensive, and most powerful car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 It has a proven speed of two hundred fifty three miles per hour – although even faster models of the car have been produced in limited runs. In the year 2005, the Bugatti Veyron attained its full production. This Bugatti is built by a Volkswagen AG subsidiary in the Alsace, France region. The car is named after the famous French race car driver Pierre Veyron, who won the 24 hours of Le Mans contest in the year 1939 while racing on behalf of the original Bugatti company.

The current model of the car was first developed in the year 1999 in the form of a concept car. It was first unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. In design, it was very similar to the current Veyron production model. The main designer of the Veyron was Hartmut Warkuss.

After its unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Bugatti Veyron was shown in the United States of America in the year 2006 at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. The first reported private sales of the car took place the year before at the Dubai Motor Show.
