The South Korean car manufacturer General Motors Daewoo makes a compact vehicle known alternately as the Buick HRV or the Daewood Lacetti. The car is available in three different forms – as a four door sedan, a five door station wagon, or as a five door hatchback.
Pininfarina is responsible for the design of the wagon and sedan versions of the car, while Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the hatchback version, which was launched in the year 2002. In Korea, the hatchback version of the car is known as the Lacetti 5. It was introduced in the summer of 2003. Three years later, a second generation version of the vehicle was released.
The Buick HRV is sold under different names in various markets around the world. In some European markets, it is known as the Chevrolet Nubira, while in Mexico, Canada, South America, Central America, the Philippines, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, Arabia, India, and South Africa, it is known as the Chevrolet Optra. In the United States of America, the car is known as the Suzuki Forenza; in its hatchback version, Americans know the vehicle as the Suzuki Reno.
The Buick Excelle, an updated version of the HRV, is sold in China. It comes with an updated exterior.
