The mid size entry level luxury vehicle known as the Cadillac CTS (short for Catera Touring Sedan) is made by Cadillac, a division of General Motors. It was first introduced in the year 2003. The Cadillac CTS is meant to serve as a replacement vehicle for the Cadillac Catera.
The Cadillac CTS boasts a design by Wayne Cherry. It features cutting edge styling known as “art and science.” This style was first used on the Cadillac Evoq, a concept vehicle. The Cadillac CTS has been widely acclaimed; many feel that it has revivified the Cadillac brand name. While Cadillac had previously attempted to attract a younger buying base, the Cadillac CTS was the company’s first successful effort to do so. The Cadillac CTS was even featured in the popular motion picture The Matrix Reloaded.
The 2008 model of the Cadillac CTS was recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show. It takes its design cues from the Cadillac Sixteen, a concept car. The 2008 Cadillac CTS is slated to go on sale in December of 2007.
The Cadillac CTS is built on the General Motors Sigma platform and features rear wheel drive. It is the first Cadillac to feature manual transmission since the year 1988 and the Cimarron vehicle.
