The Cadillac luxury division of General Motors manufactures a full size luxury sedan known as the Cadillac DTS – short for “DeVille Touring Sedan.” The Cadillac DTS is meant as a replacement vehicle for Cadillac’s largest luxury car, the Cadillac DeVille.
The Cadillac DTS was first presented as part of the second inauguration of President George W. Bush in the year 2005. The exact details of the vehicle are highly classified, for this reason, but it is assumed to be heavily armored and features advanced communication equipment. The production version of the Cadillac DTS was also unveiled in the year 2005 at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Cadillac DTS is made at General Motors’ Detroit Hamtramck Assembly plant in the town of Hamtramck, Michigan in the United States of America. The luxury models of the car sell for $41,990, while the performance version of the vehicle can be acquired for $50,490. The Cadillac DTS is known to be the best selling full size luxury vehicle in both Canada and the United States of America.
In the year 2007, a stretched version of the Cadillac DTS, known as the Cadillac DTS L, was unveiled. It features a six inch stretch of the platform, which gives passengers seated in the backseat a lot more room.
