Cadillac manufactures a luxury card that is known as the STS, or the Seville Touring Sedan.

The Cadillac STS is meant to serve as a replacement vehicle for the “import fighter” known as the Cadillac Seville. Since the year 1988, the Seville utilized the STS name on high performance versions. In the year 1992, Cadillac decided to split the Seville line in to SLS and STS, the latter being the higher performance version of the vehicle. At that point, the STS got the new Cadillac Northstar System, which included the aluminum DOHC L37 Northstar V8 Configuration.

Throughout the course of its existence, the Cadillac STS was the highest price sedan model for the entire Cadillac Company. The Cadillac STS is also Cadillac’s international flagship model. In the United States of America and Canada, the Cadillac STS is situated between the mid size CTS and the larger DTS. It competes with such automobiles as the Mercedes Benz E Class, Acura RL, Lexus GS, BMW 5 Series, and Infiniti M. In Europe, it is the largest sedan belonging to Cadillac; there, it competes with such automobiles as the Jaguar XJ, Audi A8, Mercedes Benz S Class, BMW 7 Series, and Lexus LS.
