The Chevrolet Uplander is a minivan replacement for the previous Astro and Venture models. It was released in the year 2005, overlapping with the Venture and Astro’s final model years. The Chevrolet Uplander is based on the same platform as the Pontiac Montana SV6, the Saturn Relay, and the Buick Terraza.
There are very few differences among the vehicles sharing the Uplander platform. The only major difference is that in the United States of America, the Chevrolet Uplander is offered in a cargo and two wheelbase versions. There is also an integrated child seat in the Chevrolet Uplander LS. Depending on options, the price of the Chevrolet Uplander ranges from $21,250 to $33,795. The Chevrolet Uplander is often exported to Canada, Mexico, and Chile.
The Chevrolet Uplander is currently built in a factory outside of Atlanta, Georgia. In the year 2005, General Motors announced that it would be closing the assembly planet in the year 2009.
The Chevrolet Uplander comes equipped with a standard CD and MP3 player. Like its siblings, Chevrolet Uplander attempts to hit the cross over vehicle styling with its elongated front fuchsia coloring.
The Chevrolet Uplander has a much higher crash test rating than its predecessor, the Chevrolet Venture, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
