Ralph Gilles designed the full size near luxury automobile known as the Chrysler 300. Numerous vehicles have been produced over the years that use this name, beginning in the year 1955 and continuing up to the present.
Notably, the Chrysler 300 appeared in the year 1979 under the name of the Chrysler Cordoba, a limited edition vehicle. It contained pin stripes, non functional fender vents, and a high output Configuration that was mated to a three speed automatic transmission. This version of the automobile was a very good performer for its era. Only 3,811 units of the vehicle were made. Every once in a while, one can still find one on eBay for a reasonable price. There are not many options available for these cars, however.
In the year 2003, a full size sport and luxury sedan was shown at the New York Auto Show as a concept vehicle. It was first introduced in the year 2004 as an early 2005 model. The current rendition of the 300 was designed by Ralph Gilles.
Another version of the car, the 300C, won the Car of the Year Award in 2005 from Motor Trend magazine. It also appeared on the Ten Best list of Car and Driver magazine for the years 2005 and 2006.
