The Chrysler Aspen is Chrysler’s best-known sports utility vehicle. It was launched for the 2007 model year. The Chrysler Aspen is loosely based on the Dodge Durango SUV. The name of the car was previously used by Dodge between the years of 1976 and 1980.

The Chrysler Aspen was the first truck based SUV to be commercialized under the Chrysler brand name. As of this introduction, which took place in the year 2006, all American car brands now feature an SUV in their range. The Chrysler Aspen was first shown at the North American International Auto Show in the year 2006. This SUV comes with three rows of seating for up to eight individuals and boasts all wheel drive capabilities.

The Chrysler Aspen only comes in one series – the Limited – yet boasts several different equipment packages that allows customers to customize the car according to their individual tastes. Not many stand-alone options are on offer, however, as a means of keeping the Chrysler Aspen in the appropriate market positioning as an upscale SUV.

A hybrid version of the Chrysler Aspen will be introduced in the year 2008. It is slated to feature a 340 hp 5.7 L Hemi Configuration as well as a two-mode hybrid system that was developed by BMW in collaboration with General Motors.
