Between the years of 1993 and 2004, Chrysler produced a four door full size front wheel drive sedan that was known as the Chrysler Concorde. It was meant to serve as a replacement for the Chrysler Fifth Avenue.
It was one of the original three Chrysler LH platform models, which had been derived from the Eagle Premier. The car was related to the Chrysler LHS, the Eagle Vision, the Dodge Intrepid, and the Chrysler New Yorker. In the years 1993 and 1994, the Chrysler Concorde appeared in Car and Driver magazine’s ten best list.
The design of the Chrysler Concorde was based on the concept vehicle the Lamborghini Portofino from the year 1987. The Portofino was universally acclaimed as a triumph of design work. This set in motion the decision of Chrysler to produce a production based sedan with the same revolutionary design principles called “cab forward.”
The Chrysler Concorde’s first generation model was first shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in the year 1992. It was shown there as the 1993 model. This first generation of the car lasted until the year 1997. The following year, the car was completely redesigned. In the year 2002, the Concorde Limited was unveiled.
