The Chrysler Sebring is the name of a medium sized convertible that is made by the DaimlerChrysler group. The Chrysler Sebring was intended to be a replacement vehicle for the Chrysler LeBaron. Many competing cars have emerged since the Chrysler Sebring was first unveiled. These include the Volkswagen Eos and the Pontiac G6.
Today’s version of Chrysler Sebring is representative of Chrysler’s final Cab Forward automobiles. These designs are being phased out in favor of new designs with a more retro, boxier feel. Between the years of 2001 and 2005, the Chrysler Sebring was known as the most popular convertible in the entire world. Nearly forty thousand units were produced each year during this period. For the first two generations of the Sebring, Dura Convertible Systems made the tops of the car.
The third generation of the Sebring utilized a top made by Karmann. For the year 2008, it is predicted that Chrysler will issue a new Sebring featuring a hardtop.
