The C1 was initiated as a part of the PSA Group’s B Zero Project, which was a joint venture with Toyota. The C1 shares similar characteristics with both the Peugeot 107 and the Toyota Aygo.
All three of these automobiles are produced in the town of Kolin, Czech Republic at the new Toyota Peugeot Citroen Automobile facilities. The project was first unveiled in the year 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show. All three cars are four seaters, with three or five door hatchbacks that measure around 3.40 m in length. Dontao Coco designed the Citroen C1.
One of the most notable features of the Citroen C1 is the large cluster of tail lights. It extends from the edge of the rear doors to the window in the rear. This means that there is no external metal C pillar.
The Citroen C1 comes with a 1.0 L three cylinder Configuration. This Configuration boasts a fuel economy of about 61.4 mpg – the equivalent of 3.8 L per 100 km. A 1.4 L four cylinder Configuration is also available for the Citroen C1.
