The Citroen C4 Picasso is a compact MPV automobile that was first unveiled by Citroen in the year 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. A five seater model, rather than the previous seven seater, was unveiled in the first half of 2007.
The Citroen C4 Picasso shares Configurations and platform with both the Peugeot 307 and Citroen C4. A compact MPV version of the model, the Xsara Picasso, is also produced by Citroen.
Upon the unveiling of the second C4 Picasso model at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 2007, Citroen announced that three different Picasso vehicles would be commercialized simultaneously. For the sake of consistency, the seven seat version of the car has been re-named the Grand C4 Picasso. So now the Citroen C4 Picasso is the name given to the five seat version of the car.
The C4 Picasso is manufactured in the Spanish Factory PSA in Vigo.
C4 Picassos can be purchased either as a six speed Electronic Gearbox System or in the form of a five speed manual transmission. The former is a semi automatic transmission that contains two shifting options – a fully automated mode and a paddle shifted manual mode. Modes are selected with the help of a column mounted mode selector.
