The French car maker Citroen makes a large family car known as the C5. It has been in existence since the year 2001. It was meant to serve as a replacement for the Citroen Xantia.
The first generation of C5 automobiles was made available in the form of a station wagon or a five door lift back. The Citroen C5 was different from its predecessors in that it took the form of a lift back with a hatch and a three box design. Such a form effectively disguises the hatch, enabling Citroen to completely reverse the design philosophy from Robert Opron’s fastback sedan period. The power on the machine stems from1.8, 2.0, and 2.9 liter V6 petrol Configurations, as well as a 1.6, 2.0, and 2.2 liter direct injection Diesel Configurations.
The C5 has the distinction of being the last automobile to be developed under Jacques Calvet’s chairmanship of Citroen.
The Citroen C5 underwent a re-design in the year 2004, when it received new front and rear ends. (The center of the car remained the same, however.) This brought it in to line with the Citroen C4’s new look. The new version of the car also received swiveling directional headlights.
