The Ferrari 575M Superamerica is a convertible version of the Ferrari 575M Maranello. The two door, two seat grand tourer sports vehicle known as the Ferrari 575M Maranellos is manufactured by Italian sports car stalwarts Ferrari.
It was first released in the year 2002. The Ferrari 575M Maranello is essentially a revised version of the Ferrari 550 with styling adjustments courtesy of Pininfarina. The Ferrari 575M Maranello was replaced by the Ferrari 599 GTB in the first half of 2006. Only 559 units of the Ferrari 575M Superamerica were constructed. This makes it one of the most exclusive automobiles of all time.
The somewhat random quantity of vehicles follows the philosophy of Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari that there should always be one less vehicle than there is demand available on the market.
The Ferrari 575M Superamerica features a glass panel roof that is capable of rotating 180 degrees. This is a first for a production vehicle. The power output on the vehicle is measured at 540 horsepower. A GTC handling package on the Ferrari 575M Superamerica is also available. This makes the Ferrari 575M Superamerica the world’s fastest convertible berlinetta. It is capable of reaching a speed of up to 199 miles per hour.
