The Gran Turismo vehicle known as the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti has been produced by Italian auto stalwarts Ferrari since the year 2004. It is a big two door fastback coupe with a 2 + 2 arrangement of seating. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti was a replacement vehicle for the smaller Ferrari 456M model.
The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is produced in Modena, Italy at the Carrozzeria Scaglietti factory. The design of the vehicle is inspired by the Ferrari 375 MM of the 1950s. This is the vehicle that had been commissioned for Ingrid Bergman by Italian director Roberto Rossellini.
The design of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti has proven to be very controversial. In spite of its classical roots, the overall form of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is reminiscent of the 250 GTOs. The loudest criticism of the vehicle is that it is a bit ungainly. This criticism is typically directed at the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti’s small round headlights as well as the car’s middle front being shorter than its sides. Some critics have also expressed their opinion that the hood of the vehicle is disproportionate with the rest of its body. Others have opined that the car is merely unassuming when measured next to other Ferrari vehicles.
