The Ferrari F2001 was a highly successful Formula One racing vehicle. It was designed for the 2001 racing season by Rory Byrne and Ross Brawn.

The design of the Ferrari F2001 was based on new regulation changes that mandated higher mounted front wing assemblies as a means of reducing down force. The result of this mandate was a distinct droop snoot nose as well as a spoon shaped front wing. The re-introduction of launch control and traction systems also came to the fore that season. The Ferrari F2001 was thus designed with all of these things in mind.

The Ferrari F2001 was something of a departure from most of Brawn and Byrne’s designs for Ferrari in the past. The design of the Ferrari F2001 was largely based on the design theories of McLaren. While the Ferrari F2001 did feature standard Ferrari trademarks, including periscope exhausts that the Ferrari team had revolutionized in the late 1990s, the car’s tire wear and aerodynamic efficiency were significantly improved from previous models.

The Ferrari F2001 was quite easy to set up. It was also a lot faster than its rival McLaren.

Racer Michael Schumacher would go on to take nine easy victories that season in the Ferrari F2001. This was his fourth world championship. He scored a record 123 points.
