Between the years of 1995 and 2001, Fiat produced two small family cars known as the Fiat Bravo and the Fiat Brava. The two automobiles are effectively two versions of the same model, with the Bravo being a three door hatchback and the Brava as a five door hatchback. In the year 2007, the Bravo nameplate was revived as an all new replacement for the Fiat Stilo.
The Fiat Bravo was meant to be a replacement for the Fiat Tipo. The car came with an all new Configuration, with a base model that utilized a 1.4 L twelve valve Configuration that produced eighty bhp. Customers were able to choose from three different petrol Configurations: the 103 bhp 1.6 L 16 valve; the 113 bhp 1.8 L 16 valve Configuration; and the 2.0 L 20 valve R5 unit used in the HGT model that was capable of producing up to 147 bhp and that could drive the car up to 135 miles per hour. There were also two turbo diesel Configurations that were made available – both of them were 1.9 L four cylinder units, one of which produced 75 bhp, with the other making 100 bhp. Upon its launch, Bravo was awarded European Car of the Year.
