The mini MPV known as the Fiat Idea has been made by the Italian car maker Fiat since the year 2004. The Fiat Idea is based on the Project 188 platform, which was also used on the Fiat Punto’s second generation.
The Fiat Idea has received high marks for its incredibly versatile interior. This is an interior that includes sliding and folding rear seats. The Fiat Idea gives the car a high center of gravity thanks to its height and narrow width; this also gives the vehicle poor handling when compared to such automobiles as the Renault Modus and the Opel Meriva.
The Brazilian version of the Fiat Idea was first launched on the South American continent in the year 2005. It comes with a choice of a 1.4 L eight valve 80 hp Fire Configuration or a 1.8 L eight valve 110 hp Configuration. Both Configurations come with flexible fuel technology that allows the driver to load the vehicle with either ethanol or gasoline.
This version of the Fiat Idea has differences that were created exclusively for South America. The floor plan on the vehicle, for example, is based on the Grande Punto’s platform. It also comes with a much longer wheelbase.
