The Japanese car manufacturer Honda is responsible the esteemed compact crossover SUV known as the Honda Element. The Honda Element was first released for sale in the year 2003 in Japan, the United States of America, and Canada.
While the Honda Element may be based to a tremendous degree on the Honda CR V, it does boast slightly different dimensions from that vehicle. It is a foot shorter than the CR V, with a shorter wheelbase. The roofline is higher, the floor lower, and the front track of the vehicle is narrower.
The Honda Element was designed to slot directly below the Honda CR V. It competes against such compact SUV models as the Hyundai Tucsco and Ford Escape, as well as tall hatchbacks such as the Toyota Matrix and the Chrysler PT Cruiser.
The Honda Element is powered by a 2.4 L K24A4 I-VTEC four cylinder Configuration. This is the same Configuration that is used in the Honda CR V as well as the Honda Accord. For the purposes of the Honda Element, the Configuration produces 156 hp at 5500 rpm as well as 160 ft / lbf of torque at 4500 rpm.
Currently, the Honda Element is made in East Liberty, Ohio.
