The Hummer H4, also known as the Hummer HX, is a proposed SUV vehicle that is supposedly in development in the Hummer division of General Motors. It is predicted that a completed model will be introduced by General Motors to the public by the year 2009.
The Hummer H4 is intended to be a competitor to the Jeep Wrangler. Thus far, the development in Hummers has been towards the SUV market – particularly SUVs that are suited towards urban settings. This type of Hummer culminated in the Hummer H3. The Hummer H4, however, will most likely be a lot more basic. The focus of the Hummer H4 will be mainly on its off road abilities.
It is believed that the Hummer H4 will be a lot smaller than previous Hummers – including the Hummer H1. The look and feel of the Hummer H4 has not yet been decided by General Motors, who have not yet come to a conclusion as to which platform to construct the Hummer H4 on. It is highly likely, however, that the Hummer H4 will use a shortened version of the platform that the Hummer H3 currently employs.
The transmission choices on the Hummer H4 will be five speed automatic or manual.
