It was built on the same platform as the Kia Amanti. The Hyundai XG 350 was not a commercial success. The Hyundai XG 350 name was originally used in the year 2002 as a means of designating the new 3.5 L Sigma V6 Configuration. This Configuration is capable of attaining around 200 hp.

Initially, the Hyundai Grandeur was a rebadged version of the Mitsubishi Debonair. It was launched with a 2.0 L SOHC MPI Configuration that had also been used in the first generation of the Sonata vehicle. In the year 1987, a 2.4 L SOHC MPI Configuration was added on. Three years later, a V6 3.0 L model was launched as a means of competing with the Daewoo Imperial vehicle.

Hyundai’s manufacturing operations are based in Ulsan, South Korea. There, the largest integrated car manufacturing factory in the world turns out over a million cars each year. The word “Hyundai” means “modernity” in the Korean language. The roots of Hyundai go back to the year 1947, when Chung Ju Yung started the Hyundai Configurationering and Construction Company.
