The Jaguar C XF is a concept vehicle that is intended to show Jaguar’s new design direction. It was first shown in Detroit, Michigan at the North American International Auto Show.
The concept of the Jaguar C XF is meant to be a preview vehicle for the forthcoming Jaguar XF model.
Details of the Jaguar C XF were unveiled in January of 2007.
Both the current and previous generations of Jaguar were vehicle were considered to be retro in styling. They were heavily influenced by the Jaguar automobiles of the 1960s. The Jaguar C XF is thus a major departure from such a strategy of design. While the C XF boasts four doors, it has a shape that is reminiscent of a coupe. This is a design trend that was first established by the Mercedes Benz CLS Class. While Jaguar is cognizant of the fact that the market potential for the automobile is thus limited, the idea is that the current woes that Jaguar is experiencing can be traced back to an attempt to transform Jaguar in to a rival brand for Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz. So now, the market strategy for Jaguar is to build less vehicles and focus more on the quality end of the spectrum.
