Jaguar R3

In the year 2000, British auto stalwarts unveiled their new racing vehicle known as the Jaguar R3. The Jaguar R3 was designed by Mark Handford and John Russell alongside their racing teams. The Jaguar Technical Director Steve Nichols provided guidance and supervision during the design process.

The Jaguar R3 was the result of a new technical partnership between Jaguar and Castrol. Castrol decided to become more involved with Formula One racing through forging a partnership with Jaguar Racing. They supply the team with Configuration oil, transmission fluids, and provide technical support at races and tests. Castrol provides lubricants as well as many other technical resources thanks to its parent company BP to the Jaguar Racing and to the Jaguar R3.

The Jaguar R3 is run thanks to a Cosworth CR 3 V10 Configuration. This is the same Configuration that powered the Jaguar R2 vehicle. The Configuration was also developed throughout the season with the help of Cosworth Racing, which is regarded as the most successful builder of Configurations in the history of Formula One racing.

The luxury carmaker Jaguar Cars Limited originally was based in the town of Browns Lane in Coventry, England. Nowadays, however, Jaguar is based in Whitley in Coventry.
