The Jaguar X Type is a luxury entry level vehicle that is made by the luxury division of Ford, Jaguar.
It was first produced in the year 2001. The Jaguar X Type is constructed on a version of the Ford CD132 platform, which is the British version of the Ford CDW27 platform. The Jaguar X Type’s platform also forms the basis of the Ford Mondeo. The Jaguar X Type is made in the United Kingdom at the Jaguar Halewood factory.
The Jaguar X Type is the smallest of Jaguar’s current sedan line up. It was meant to follow up upon the success of the Jaguar S Type, despite the fact that it takes its design cues from the Jaguar XJ series. About ten percent of the Jaguar X Type’s parts are constructed by Jaguar. Twenty percent of its parts are made by Ford. The rest are produced by subcontractors.
The first version of the Jaguar X Type was a saloon vehicle. In the year 2004, it was joined by an estate version of the vehicle. This was the second estate vehicle ever in Jaguar’s history. It was launched to mixed reviews. In the United States of America, the estate version of the vehicle is called the “Sportwagon.” It is not available there in diesel form.
