The Koenigsegg CC is the name of a vehicle manufactured by the Swedish car maker Koenigsegg. It was first issued in the year 1999, also known as the McLaren F1 era.
The McLaren F1 was the fastest production car up until the year 2005. Koenigsegg set out to make a car that would exceed both the standards and speed of the McLaren F1. In the year 2002, the design of the Koenigsegg CC began to come to life. The car was originally designed as the Sethera Falcon by Sven Harry Akesson.
By the second half of 2003, the Koenigsegg CC8S was already boasting over 245 miles per hour in the final days of its development. The next year, The Koenigsegg CC8S was released on the street. Orders from all over the world began pouring in. Then, in the year 2005, the Koenigsegg CCR was released. This vehicle would break the records set by the McLaren F1 GTR eight years prior.
This record would not stand for long, however, as Bugatti had long been planning its revenge against the McLaren vehicle. The Bugatti Veyron beat the record, at 253 miles per hour, at the Volkswagen Ehra Lessien test track.
