The racing automobile the Koenigsegg CCGT is the work of the Swedish car company Koenigsegg. The Koenigsegg CCGT first made an appearance in the year 2007 at the Geneva Motors Show. The vehicle is intended to compete in the grand tourer sports car racing categories.

The Koenigsegg CCX is mechanically very similar to the Koenigsegg CCX, the car on which it is based. The major difference between the two vehicles lies in the Configuration. IN order to meet the regulations for the GT1 class as they have been set by the FIA and the ACO, two centrifugal superchargers had to be removed from the DOHC V8 Configuration, at which point its capacity increased from 4.7 liters to 5 liters. The Koenigsegg CCGT’s power output is an air restricted six hundred horsepower.

The weight of the Koenigsegg CCGT is merely one thousand kilograms, thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber in the bodywork and chassis of the vehicle. This allows the racing teams of Koenigsegg to use up to one hundred kilograms of ballast in order to make the car meet the minimum weight requirement of 1,100 kilograms for automobiles in this category.

It has not yet been determined when Koenigsegg will start running the Koenigsegg CCGT in competitive races.
