The four wheel drive utility vehicle known as the Defender is manufactured by the British car company Land Rover. The Land Rover Defender is in many ways a continuation of development of the original Land Rover Series I, which was launched in the year 1948. Utilizing the basic yet robust underpinnings of an aluminum body as well as a ladder frame chassis, the Land Rover Defender has gotten high marks for being adaptable in a number of different situations. It has been used as a farming vehicle, a rescue vehicle, and for commercial and recreational purposes alike.

When it was first unveiled, the Land Rover Defender was not presented as an entirely new vehicle. It utilized both body parts and Configurations that had been carried over from the Series III Land Rover. It also boasted suspension, axles, and a gearbox from the Range Rover.

In the year 2007, the Land Rover Defender received a major facelift. Most of the changes, in fact, were meant to satisfy new safety and emissions legislation. The drive train experienced the most significant changes. The Configuration of the vehicle, previously a Td5, was now from the ZSD family – a version of the 2.4 liter four cylinder unit that had also been utilized in the Ford Transit vehicle.
