Land Rover issues a four wheel drive for on and off road action that is known as the Land Rover Discovery. The vehicle is currently being sold by the Ford Motor Group.
There have been three generations of the Land Rover Discovery to date. The Land Rover Discovery is notable for being a lot less expensive than the Range Rover, which is Land Rover’s top model.
The Land Rover Discovery was first introduced in the latter half of the 1980s. It is currently Land Rover’s most popular model. While it may be a lot less utilitarian than the Defender model, the Land Rover Discovery has gotten high marks for its off road performance. In the United States of America and Canada, the current Discovery Series III of the vehicle is sold as the LR3.
The Land Rover Discovery was first unveiled in the United Kingdom in the year 1989. The code name for the vehicle was Project Jay. Land Rover came very close to naming the vehicle either the Prairie Rover or the Highlander, but it was ultimately decided to improve the company’s overall branding strategy, and thus allowing the Land Rover name to become detached from specific models.
