Lotus cars are manufactured by the Lotus Car Company which has British origins and it specializes in
manufacturing sports and trace cars. The Lotus car company is located in Hethel in Norfolk, England. The company is very famous for building the most light weight cars and no body has been able to match this. The cars invariable weighed less than 1000 kilograms and which ever model they built had to match this criteria’s. Because of this factor alone the Lotus cars excelled in the performance area without doubt.
The place where the company was located also had an in built race track on which they would test their cars extensively. The company was started by Chapman who actually was an inn keeper’s son before the war and after starting Lotus Car Company he became a Billionaire. The Lotus Company established itself after building cars which won the Formula one racing championship many times. The company after Chapman’s death was taken over by General Motors and eventual an Italian Business man who produced the Bugatti cars took over the company from General Motors.
The Lotus Car company has come a long way from history and along way from success and scandals and disappointments and now it can be said that it has lived a lifetime and never the less a life time in glory. The company was divided before it was sold into Lotus Configurationering and Lotus Cars and the Lotus cars division were sold and the Lotus Configurationering continued.
There are rumors that the Lotus Configurationering company was making effort to bring back the legend and once again prove to the world. They were also in the process of building a race team. But these rumors have just remained as gossip columns so far and the world is yet to see a sign of the legendary Lotus.
