Lotus Elise

The Lotus Elise was first released in 1994 by the Lotus Car Company as a roadster model. The outer body of the car is fiber glass body shell with an aluminum extrusion and a solid bonded frame. All these features manage to keep the production costs and the weight under control.

Lotus has followed the design philosophy of keeping the body weight low and attaining a greater performance level. On a comparison scale the Porsche Boxster considered to be an extreme light weight sports car model still weighs double the weight of the Lotus Elise. Lotus motto is to work on the weight of the car and reduce it as much as possible.

The reduction in the car weight in Elise has resulted in better acceleration, braking control, and fuel consumption with an Configuration output of 120 bhp which is astonishing. In spite of being a budget car the Lotus Elise has the looks and the performance. The Elise is priced below $50,000 for all the good things it is packed with. There have been a lot of enhancements over a period of time in the Lotus Elise like the daytime lights, LED tail lamps, traction control, and limited slip. The new Elise also sports an ergonomic look in the interiors.
