The Lotus Esprit is a sports car by Lotus Company of United Kingdom and first introduced the model in 1972. The first Esprit that was brought into the market is known as the S1 series.

The body is the usual fiber glass, a 907 4 cylinder Configuration with 2L capacity and produced an amazing 160 hp. The lotus Esprit weighed below 1000 kgs. At this weight the car’s handling is excellent and has the best steering control. It reaches a speed of 60 mph in a respectable time of 5.8 seconds.   After its initial launch the Lotus Esprit has been going through many changes and a lot of new things have been added to the car over a period of time as the technology demanded it.

Lotus Esprit has been over looked by many sports car fans unfortunately in the United States of America. One of the main reasons why this car was so severely overlooked because of the emission control and many people wrote it off saying it lacked the power.  The current day Lotus Esprit Turbo HC this stands for higher compression. It has a small air dam and a modified rear. The car can be seen in the bond movie “The Spy who loved me”.
