The Mazda Ibuki is derived from the Mazda RX 8 platform and also approaches a futuristic Mazda MX-5 Model. The rotary Configuration in the Mazda Ibuki has been substituted with a hybrid electric and gasoline which can generate about 180 hp at 7500 rpm.

The 1.6L Configuration works using the valve timing and also shuts down automatically when the Configuration is idling. This controls the emissions and also increases the economy of the car. Like all cars with hybrid Configurations the Mazda Ibuki uses a regenerative braking system.  The components for the power train are all located at the wheel base. The rear wheels derive the power from the six speed automatic transmission and are sized at 18 inches.  The suspension stands on a double wish bone in the front and an independent set up for the back.

Even with the heavy hardware at the wheel base the Mazda Ibuki maintains its composure and balance because of the optimum weight distribution. Mazda achieved a low curb weight by using aluminum and plastic components for the chassis. For the eternal design there are LED headlights, tail lights and also an air inlet in the front. The car looks modern because it is tall and wide in the sides and a short front.
