The Mercedes-Benz C DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) is derived from a concept car called Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters which means German Touring Maters.
The car has been acclaimed for to be super fast with spectacular speeds. The DTM race cars come with a RWD and V8 4L Configurations with an output of 470hp. This kind of layout is available on road cars too but the different thing about the Mercedes-Benz C DTM is the chassis. Race drivers claim that the handling of the car as good as any single seater race car. Given its complexity it is still cheaper to build this car to one’s amazement. The philosophy in building this car is they have cut down costs by using common parts from third parties like for example the transmission is from Hewland and Xtrac, the tyre’s are from Dunlop. The aerodynamics was however tested in the wind tunnel.
The Mercedes-Benz C DTM started its development and design process in March of 2006 and then it debuted on the race track 10 months later. The Configuration and the suspensions were all modified. The V8 Configuration had a cylinder angle of 90 degrees, 4L displacement and 4 valves for each cylinder. It gives a power output of 470 hp at 7500rpm. The wheel suspension has been designed with much care which improved the handling and the drive on the whole.
