The hardware also comprises of an independent suspension for the 4 wheels, the Mercedes speed sensitive steering control and an 18 inch alloy wheels to drive the machine. The car is weight is about 7500 pounds which is ok for all the heavy metal it struts around.
When it was launched there was a crunch with the gas prices going up and that probably played a large role in bringing down its success as SUV’s were not very popular for some time. The Mercedes-Benz GL Class is very conservative in style and does not come across as sporty or classy. It defines the term SUV with its looks. It is rugged, muscular and strong and gives you the power you need to get a good feel at the end of the day.
