The Mercedes-Benz M-Class was extremely successful mid sized luxury SUV in the United States of America when it was launched in 1997.

It is little smaller in size when compared to the GL class and the M class had an advantage as it was the first car to include the stability control feature, a system that detects if the vehicle is losing control and intervenes with appropriate brake control in case of loss of control. It is a very intelligent and acclaimed safety feature. The M class also came with airbags in the front and the side and also front seat passenger detector. Mercedes is also reputed to have high scores in crash tests. Ever since Mercedes started laying emphasis on safety features and having pioneered many features they have earned a lot of brownie points. Because that’s what we all seek, safety and speed in the same package.

There are many variants in the M class model like the ML 320, ML350, M55 and ML500. Some vehicles come with the V8 Configuration and a little modification on the outer body. Some have the 4 cylinder like the ML 230 and some feature the turbo diesel like the ML 270 CDI which is sold primarily in the UK.
