The MINI is name of the model and the company that gave birth to it was called the British Motor Corporation.
Great things come in small packages and that is what the MINI is all about. It is a great car in a small package. This has been the most popular car ever made in Britain. This has also been the longest love affair the British had until now when it comes to cars. The MINI was designed by the British Motor Corporation and the brain behind this was Sir Alec Issigonis.
The MINI was exported to many countries across the world including Spain, South Africa, Uruguay, Portugal, Venezuela, and many more. While the Suez crisis there was a lot of fuel crisis too in the worlds and the mini ventured in those times. Mini as a car was extremely fuel economic and this factor alone brought in a lot of sales for the car. The British Motor Corporation used its own Configurations in most of its cars. The BMC A series a four cylinder water cooled Configuration was used vastly in the BMC cars. BMC eventually deviated from its tradition of traversely mounted Configurations to the sump and also to the front wheel. Drive. Most of the cars developed by BMC had the same technology after that. But this was specific to smaller cars and so was the case with the Mini.
The Mini became the most Iconic vehicle for the British Motor Corporation and even though they had a series of car releases in the form of concept cars, sports cars, hatch backs and saloons, the mini remained the legend. There is a huge list of cars from BMC which eventually led to the Rover group and the current descendant and heir to the throne of BMC.
