MINI Cooper Convertible

Ever since the MINI’s launch it has been progressing at a fast pace and the convertible was launched in July 2004. The topless Mini cooper is all the more fun to drive.

The Mini Cooper convertible comes with three options, Mini One Convertible, Mini Cooper Convertible and Mini Cooper S convertible.

The Mini Cooper convertible comes with a 1.6 L 4 cylinder Configuration and it is the same in all the variants. It gives out an output of 115bhp at 6000 rpm and almost delivers a torque of 150 Nm at 4500 rpm. It is amazing for its size. The convertible is a little heavier by at least 100 kilograms when compared to the regular hatchback. Probably because of the roof accessories which are electronically handled.

The extra 100 kilograms has a slight effect on performance because the hatchback without this weight reaches 60 mph in about 9.2 seconds whereas the convertible takes 9.8 seconds to reach 60 mph. But when it comes to practicality it is no big deal at all and after all in the end no one cares about these small differences if you really want to own a convertible. It is nice to put your roof down and drive many a times.
