The Renault Scenic is a small sized compact wagon or a mini multi purpose vehicle. The chassis is from the Renault small family cars. The Renault Scenic is a derivative of a concept car Megane Hatch back and is identical in many ways to that car.
The Renault Scenic was supposed to serve the people who wanted a multi purpose vehicle and could not for financial reasons go for a vehicle which came with large space like the Espace and the Renault Scenic is expected to fill this gap and serve people in this category. There are many of them who want an SUV but cannot get one. The v went through some face lift along with the hatchback in the front of the vehicle.
Renault also came with a four wheel drive option in the same series called the RX 4. In this vehicle the rear suspension was strengthened and the front was also improved. In 2003 the Renault Scenic launched the grand scenic which had a longer wheel base and a rear overhang. The current day Renault Scenic comes with a lot of features like the automatic headlights and rear lights, low emissions, green vehicle concepts and plush interiors, attractive dash board and smart controls with easy access, the Renault badge on the boot lid and so on. It is well decked up with jewellery and also provided with a lot of accessories.
