The Rolls-Royce Limited initially manufactured only cars and later on they ventured out into the air craft
business too. The company was founded by Henry Royce and Charles Stewart Rolls jointly and that is why it is called Rolls Royce. They formed Rolls-Royce Limited and every form of business was under the same name whether it was cars or something to do with air crafts. Eventually in 1973 the car division was separated to form its own identity and was called the Rolls Royce Motors. Later in 1984 the Rolls Royce Motors also was privatized and was called Rolls Royce Plc. After the cars division was separated Henry Royce had started his own Configurationering and mechanical business. He made the first car called Royce in the factory of Manchester in 1904. Rolls Royce gained popularity as a car manufacturer with their Silver Ghost model.
The Silver Ghost was designed with a six cylinder Configuration and nearly six thousand cars were built. The company also opened a second factory in Springfield in Massachusetts because there was a lot of demand for Rolls Royce cars in the United States and each time exporting them from England did not seem a viable option for rolls Royce Motors and they decided that it would be best to locally manufacture the car for increasing demand.
The factory was operational for one whole decade and finally they closed down in 1931. In the same year the Rolls Royce Company also acquired Bentley who was actually rivals at that point of time. Soon after this there was a prominent similarity noticed between Rolls Royce and Bentley cars. Soon the Rolls Royce and the Bentleys base were moved to Crewe and there was another facility in Mulliner Park Ward of London. The bodies for the Rolls Royce cars built by coach builders and Rolls Royce built only the chassis for along time. After the merger with Bentley for the first time they made their own body and the chassis.

Above - The Rolls Royce Phantom black, ony twenty five of these cars have been produced as a technical exercise to demonstate their Configurationering and design skills.
