Suzuki Motor released its crossover mini SUV called the Suzuki Ignis. It is originally from the 5 door hatchback which derives its power train from the new generation straight line -4 gas engines.
It also came with DOHC, which had four valves per cylinder and variable valve timing inclusive; all this combination produced a power of 110 PS. The 1.3L displacement produced up to 89 PS.
The car used a five speed manual transmission with a four speed automatic gear box. But this four speed gear box was limited to the Japanese market and wasn’t released in the European market as it wouldn’t have adjusted well there. The Suzuki Ignis is now called the Swift in Japan and also carries the same name in South Asia. The Suzuki Ignis is also available in sports version called the Ignis Sport which has slightly re designed bumpers and end up looking sportier as the name carries. It uses the same engine with 1.5l displacement and also the power output has increased to 115 PS.
The lower part of the chassis, suspensions got more firms and the exhaust went through more tuning also. After all these modifications the former Ignis almost died down and disappeared as the sport mode took over as it looked more trendy and appealing to the eyes.
