The Aston Martin DB7 model was manufactured as a grand tourer between the years of 1994 and 2003. It was available in either convertible or coupé form. It was first unveiled in the year 1993 at the Geneva Motor Show. A six cylinder vehicle, the Aston Martin DB7 was intended as a replacement for the Aston Martin V8 car. It placed just below the V8 Virage, a hand built vehicle that had been introduced on to the market a few years prior.
The Aston Martin DB7 has the distinction of being the most successful Aston Martin vehicle ever made. Over seven thousand models were produced before it was replaced by the Aston Martin DB9. With a design by Ian Callum, the DB7 from Aston Martin is widely considered to be one of the most gorgeous automobile designs of all time. The car is known internally as the NPX project.
In the year 1996, a convertible version of the Aston Martin DB7 known as the Volante was first shown at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. The coupe version sells in the United States of America for $140,000, while the convertible Volante version is available for $150,000.
